Rachael recalls a strange encounter on King Street
When I was a student I had a very strange encounter one day on my walk to the University of Aberdeen. I was walking up King Street and just about to cross the road at Seaforth Way. It was a very average day, and because of that it seems even odder when I look back that the moment is still so clear to me now.
Just before crossing the road I saw a man walking towards me. He was young (probably late twenties) dressed in darker clothes, and wore a long coat, but again nothing particularly memorable about his outfit. However, as he past me I got this incredibly weird sensation. It was like the man exuded an oldness, an almost unearthly aura that touched instincts unfamiliar to me. It actually stopped me in my tracks and I found myself standing for a few seconds looking back at the man as he walked away.
I have never experienced that feeling again but it stayed with me. There was something very strange about the stranger I passed that day.
