the north in 100 things

the north in 100 things

Picture
We are compiling 100 things which can be said to represent the north.  They can be objects, landscapes, foods, buildings, literature, songs, anything in fact, whether tangible or intangible that encapsulates the spirit of these communities.

We are working with heritage and cultural partners across the north to gather these and they are presented in the gallery below.  We are covering a large geographical area (red on the map opposite) from Moray in south east through Nairn, Ross and Cromarty to Caithness and Sutherland as well as Orkney and Shetland.  Our UHI partners are covering the rest of the Highlands and Islands (green on the map).

our thing of the week....
Renewable Energy

I came to Stromness, Orkney to visit my campus. One weekend, the weather was beautiful and I went to stroll around town. One place captured my attention was the electric vehicle recharging stations. As a more transition done to cleaner energy, it is great to observe the availability of large recharging stations there.
